Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned
St. Petersburg Student/Site Support – approximately 20% (initiating after onboarding)
- Support the in-person Spanish-speaking student experience at the St. Petersburg site, responding to their needs in Spanish or English as needed, and procuring/collaborating with partner organizations that support Spanish-speaking members of the community.
- Support as needed the in-person student experience at the St. Petersburg site, including the military and veteran student center efforts and other emerging student needs.
- Support as needed the planning, preparation for, and the hosting of St. Petersburg programs and guests, including speakers, employers, alums, etc.
- Support as needed the preparation of the Adelante Bridge pilot for implementation.
- Co-lead the implementation, instruction, wrap around student support, and assessment of the ¡Adelante! Bridge online.
- Co-lead the exploration and promotion of a hybrid version of the Adelante Bridge in Florida, including partnership seeking, program adaptation, bridge preparation for piloting, and its eventual implementation.
- Co-lead and support other future postsecondary bridge programs for underrepresented students, including contributing to their design, development, promotion, partnership procurement and collaboration, implementation, and evaluation.
- Co-lead or support the Center’s identification, development, stewardship, and reporting of CSJ internal and external partnerships in the Florida and other Excelsior sites for the University’s community impact, JEDI thought leadership, and underrepresented student access to postsecondary education.
- Co-lead or support the collaborative design, implementation, and evaluation of partnership efforts, programs, and events, with an emphasis on Florida site opportunities and activity.
- Co-lead the development and coordination of the CSJ Rope Teams needs and opportunities, including needs/outcomes assessment, proactive stakeholder outreach/engagement, and program/event development and management.
- Co-lead the curation and content management of Rope Team web pages and co-lead the related relationships with content proposers, consultants, and vendors as needed, including the ongoing production of student, alum, faculty, and staff spotlights.
- Function as Excelsior University’s Deputy Title IX and Title VI Coordinator, including co-leading or supporting as needed Title IX and Title VI management, communication, training, and reporting.
- Support as needed the coordination of Title IX and Title VI investigations, reports, hearings, appeals, and other Title IX activities.
- Support or co-lead as needed internal or external capacity building programs, including JEDI conversations, professional development, JEDI Tours with all units, guest speakers, cultural celebration and networking events, etc.
- Co-lead and support the Center’s partnership and collaborative JEDI integration and communication with faculty and staff.
- Support as needed the Center’s research, identification, prioritization, development and evaluation of grant proposals in support of the Center’s funding and efforts.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Social Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Three years of demonstrated investment in JEDI, Social Justice, or related efforts.
- Demonstrated interest and ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a diversity of stakeholders from diverse identities and backgrounds.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English and in Spanish, with experience in multiple communication modes, including social media.
- Experience and comfort working professionally with people who speak English or Spanish and who come from different cultural backgrounds.
- Experience or skilled in teaching or facilitating learning or skill development, preferably in a college setting.
- Skills and experience in software applications use, management, and content curation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret substantive written information, as well as to apply critical thinking skills to unique University issues, challenges, and situations.
- Demonstrated complex skills, such as training, planning, and problem-solving.
- Acquaintance with legal issues related to higher education policies.
- Experience sourcing and/or writing grants, fundraising, or development work.
