The Program Manager, College Operations is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of projects to execute on the college’s strategic plan. The projects include but are not limited to Applied AI in Engineering and Computer Science, establishing a Battery and Energy Storage Center, and operational improvement initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with the college’s executive team, faculty and staff to ensure program success and alignment with the college’s goals and objectives.
As the Program Manager, you will serve a key advisor to the Assistant Dean for College Operations and faculty leaders of strategic initiatives. Additionally, you’ll take ownership of creating, managing, and reporting on a project portfolio that advances the college’s strategic plan. You’ll guide projects from start to finish—overseeing scope, timeline, and budget—while leading change management efforts to ensure the solutions you help implement are sustainable and lasting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new programs and initiatives aligned to the college’s strategic goals and objectives
 - Establish program / project charters, budget, and timeline
 - Use established best practices to execute on projects within the program portfolio including facilitating project plans, leading project meetings and resolving risks related to programs
 - Define and execute on change management activities
 - Prepare program reports and presentations
 - Establish a project portfolio and reporting cadence to keep the executive committee apprised of the status of strategic initiatives
 - Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including the executive committee, faculty and staff
 - Collaborate with other departments and units within the college to leverage resources and expertise
 - Identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness and efficiency
 - Implement best practices in program management
 
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
 - Attend a variety of events throughout the year.
 - Regular travel and occasional night and weekend work is required.
 
Post-baccalaureate credentials or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least four or more years of professional-level experience event management are required.

 - Ability to travel and/or to work evenings and weekends as required
 - Computer literacy
 
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of assignment.
 - PMP Certification
 - Familiarity with NC State University
 
A valid North Carolina Driver’s License is required within 60 days of the start date. It must be maintained as a condition of employment.
