Responsibilities
  • The Program Manager for SSS-Teacher Prep provides management of programmatic efforts designed to enhance the persistence and development of first-generation and low-income Education majors. Responsible for the expending federal funds, planning activities, and supervising full and part-time staff.
  • In conjunction with departmental leadership, ensures that the SSS-Teacher Prep program is implemented in full compliance with department, university, and grant sponsor policies, and all other applicable federal regulations and requirements. Manages implementation of the program’s activities, goals and objectives, guided by the funded proposal, federal/ state regulations, and University polices and priorities while keeping the program objectives in mind.
  • Executes the plan of operation by informing the University community about SSS-Teacher Prep identifying and selecting participants assessing students, developing individual action plans, assigning services, monitoring participants' progress, and retaining and graduating students. Directly supervises and develops program staff. In accordance with all applicable federal, state, and university regulations, effectively manages program budgets in concert with departmental leadership and divisional finance/ human resources staff.
  • Manages services for SSS participants including, but not limited to tutoring, course advisement, financial aid, graduate program enrollment, academic counseling, career services, mentoring, and personal counseling services. Provides and facilitates individual and group services to SSS students such as advising, mentoring, tutoring, workshops, and supplemental instruction.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate documentation and records, including student participant records, in accordance with federal and university regulations in conjunction with departmental leadership. Coordinates the development and maintenance of all program forms, including participant applications, evaluation forms, program brochures, and similar publications.
  • Promote positive working relationships with campus partners; Serve on department, division or university committees; Participate in professional development; Perform other similarly-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience related to academic and/or student services. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in education, Counseling, Human services or closely related field and experience with grant management, TRIO Programs or TRIO eligible student populations (i.e. first-generation, low-income, etc.)

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting in the low $50,000's commensurate with education and experience.
