Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a high-profile technology upgrade project. This role serves as the primary liaison between business and technical teams, overseeing the successful implementation of a new integrated system that supports payroll, human resources, accounting, budgeting, and civil service enforcement functions. The Project Manager will provide end-to-end project lifecycle leadership from planning and execution through delivery, ensuring that milestones are achieved, deliverables meet contract expectations, and stakeholders remain aligned at every stage. This is an opportunity to lead a transformative IT initiative that directly impacts multiple operational functions across the organization. You will work with senior leadership, a dedicated internal team, and vendor partners to deliver a mission-critical upgrade that shapes the organization’s future technology infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure all milestones are met. Partner with business and technical teams to align system functionality with organizational needs. Track project progress; identify risks and develop mitigation plans for missed or at-risk deadlines. Prepare and present weekly updates outlining upcoming tasks, priorities, and potential schedule impacts. Facilitate weekly project team meetings to gather updates, address issues, and maintain momentum. Participate in vendor calls and collaborate closely with vendor project managers. Escalate critical issues as needed to the CIO and Deputy CIO. Provide clear, concise documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant project management experience leading large-scale IT initiatives. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Deep understanding of IT project management principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with specialized enterprise applications. Ability to motivate and coordinate diverse project teams to achieve results efficiently.
