Psychiatry physician job in Michigan : Locum Tenens Opportunity: Inpatient Psychiatrist (IMLC Accepted)Location: Muskegon, MichiganSetting: Inpatient Psychiatric Department (Adults Only) Coverage Dates Start: ASAP Sporadic coverage for the remainder of 2025. Starting January 2026, the need will be FULL TIME with one weekday call and 1 and 4 weekend call Availability: Must be available to cover full time starting January 2026 Schedule Weekday coverage Monday - Friday (8a-5p) Call Schedule: 5p-8a, unrestricted call if able Facility and Team Details Total Beds: 27 Average Patient Census: 12 patients/day Psychiatrists on Staff: 5 Advanced Practice Providers: 6 (NPs requiring supervision) Psychologists: 0 Referral Sources: Primarily from Muskegon and Grand Rapids emergency departments Security Measures: Staff duress system and 24/7 on-site security EMR: Epic Required Clinical ExperienceDiagnoses Treated: Anxiety Disorders Affective Disorders ADD/ADHD Personality Disorders Eating Disorders Developmental Disorders Psychotic Disorders Organic Disorders Familiarity Required With: Involuntary Commitments Seclusion Therapy Pharmacotherapy Group Therapy Restraint Application Requirements Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Psychiatry (within one year of graduation) Active Michigan Medical License or IMLC BLS Certification Must supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners Must be available full-time (MondayFriday) for entire assignment Additional Notes Adult-only patient population no pediatric cases Practice setting: Inpatient psychiatry only Referrals: Handled via local emergency departments Referral BonusKnow someone who would be a great fit?
