Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for publicizing theatre events and promoting the department to potential students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Promote departmental events by preparing press releases, brochures, fliers, etc. Provide publicity and logistical support for special projects.
Seek grant support for departmental projects.
Prepare and maintain databases (mailing lists, donor lists, press lists, etc. ).
Provide front-of-house services, including house management, and box office management.
Performs other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
 
- Bachelorâs degree required
 - 8 years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
 - 3 years public relations experience required
 
Licensing & Certification
 
- Valid Texas Driver License
 
Special Skills
 
- Familiarity with local arts groups and local press resources
 - Basic desktop publishing and design skills required.
 - Excellent written and verbal skills required.
 - Possess capacity to learn new technologies and incorporate them into position.
 - Must be very resourceful as well as very flexible

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
