Job Description

Full time or part time, general pulmonary medicine service. 4 days of clinic a week plus inpatient consults and procedures Consultative clinic service with dedicated and talented PCPs in the system supporting Full time salary ~ 400k Pay will be shift based Sign on/retention bonus based on FTE commitment Independent contractor status (1099) Monthly stipend based on FTE commitment for benefits and expenses, travel, etc Malpractice included Not a locums job, we are building a team of committed individuals, but are willing to hire part time positions to fill in Our community is rural and geographically isolated with surrounding areas which lack access to subspecialty care in general, pulmonary being one stark example. We enjoy a highly motivated and talented group of physicians who are dedicated to creating access and delivering high quality, modern, evidence based care in a resource limited region. Our goal is to grow and expand our service line to create access for our community and the surrounding communities in the region. There is a large volume of undifferentiated and untreated pulmonary hypertension, related to altitude, disorders of sleep and breathing and others in the region, as well as patients with chronic respiratory failure, ILD and general pulmonary pathologies who are forced to find care hours away form their home and community, while navigating a two state dilemma between Nevada and California. Our mission is to bring this care to our community on both sides of the state line and build a program that can support the needs of our community and region, while collaborating with regional specialty centers, and bring high quality specialty pulmonary care to the area. There is a lot of work to be done building the program so we are seeking individuals motivated by program development and passionate about creating access to specialty services and delivering care to poorly resourced environments. Bring your visions and subspecialty skillsets, we are trying to really push the boundaries here and hope to build out a multimodal service line and are looking for creative and motivated individuals to help us achieve that goal. The hospital and system: Level 3 trauma center Bimodal volume surges given the tourist-based and seasonal population fluctuations 8 bed ICU Approximately 30 beds in house Population ranges from about 20k locals to up to 3-4x that on holidays and high volume tourist seasons Standard disposable bronchoscopes available for basic bronchoscopy, with a new therapeutic scope currently being acquired Well equipped with diagnostics, CT and MRI, specialty labs and diagnostics are commonly send out, but we are augmenting our in house capabilities for path and serum and body fluid analysis Clinic sites both on the California and Nevada side of town Serve a large region of very rural communities on both sides of the state line (Nevada/California) thus need both state licenses https://www.bartonhealth.org/find-a-location/locations-profile/barton-memorial-hospital/
