About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pump Repair Technician to join our team in Matthews, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of a wide range of pumps and blowers, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, vacuum pumps, and related rotating equipment. You will also support equipment pick-up/delivery, occasional field service, and pump package fabrication. This position offers variety, hands-on technical work, and opportunities for growth. Key Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, and repair pumps, blowers, and other rotating equipment. Perform detailed inspections of components, including measurements with calipers, micrometers, and clearance checks. Clean and prepare parts for accurate measurements and reassembly. Document inspections and create parts lists for repair. Pick up and deliver equipment in the Charlotte area to/from the Matthews shop. Perform occasional field service, including on-site inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Assist in fabrication of pump packages, including welding, drilling, tapping, and alignment. Commission, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure reliable operation for industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and municipal customers. Provide technical feedback and recommendations to customers and internal teams. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Technical repair background; experience with rotating equipment a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting skills. Ability to read measurements and perform precision inspections. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for pick-up/delivery and occasional field service. Preferred Skills Previous experience with pumps, blowers, or other rotating equipment. Welding/fabrication experience. Familiarity with pump/motor alignment practices. Customer service mindset and strong communication skills. Additional Information On-the-job training will be provided as needed. Some travel may be required for specialized manufacturer training. Must be able to lift and handle equipment and tools safely.
