Job Description

Nuclear Project Manager Reports To: Director, SMR Product Development Position Summary The Nuclear Project Manager will manage internal and external projects related to Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Technology. This role leads cross-functional teams to advance the design, fabrication, and deployment of SMRs, focusing on Product Realization. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and collaboration across departments to ensure projects meet customer requirements, deliver customer value, and achieve cost, schedule, quality, and other performance objectives. Projects are expected to involve non-recurring, first-of-a-kind (FOAK) activities with multiyear scopes, high technical risk, and significant commercial value. Special Position Requirements To be considered, candidates must have the following background and experience: Proven project management experience as a Project Manager for a nuclear equipment supplier, services company, or within a fleet/site project management office. Direct experience in the design of Nuclear Pressure Vessels and/or ASME components. Specific experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Section III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the overall planning, execution, and control of assigned projects in accordance with company policies and procedures. Develop, document, and maintain an approved Project Management Plan, including baseline scope, schedule, cost, earned value, and execution strategy. Communicate project baselines, milestones, and requirements to project team members and stakeholders. Interface with discipline managers and performing organizations, providing advanced project insight and alignment with company priorities. Identify and resolve project issues and risks proactively through effective risk and issue management, escalating when necessary. Deliver weekly and monthly performance reports, including earned value metrics, variance analyses, and schedule/cost risk mitigation updates. Coordinate with organizational leadership to authorize work, assign work package managers, and allocate qualified resources. Develop and maintain project-specific plans and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and timely completion of all project tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline (required). Experience: Minimum of 10 years of full-time project management experience involving complex, multi-interface projects (required). Demonstrated leadership experience on a licensed nuclear design project (required). Fundamental understanding of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) designs (required). Required Experience and Competencies: Proven application of PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) principles and processes. Demonstrated expertise in integrated cost and schedule control or compliance with ANSI EIA-748-C Earned Value Management System standards. Project management experience within the nuclear industry, energy sector, power plant A/E, or EPC environment. Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential. Technical Expertise: Understanding of nuclear system design and development, particularly Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS) and reactor design as regulated by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Regulatory Requirement: Must be eligible to work under U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 10 CFR Part 810 export control regulations.
