About the Opportunity:

The Quality Engineering Technician assures that the assigned products meet all of the customer purchase orders, drawing and specifications regarding the manufacturing of the assigned hardware. Perform quality audits, monitor processes, ensure root cause and effective corrective action is implemented.

Location: Manchester, CT

This role will be onsite 100% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a solid foundation of quality systems and procedures. Gain knowledge and experience collating and analyzing data, to ensure assigned products meet specifications.
  • Review of purchase orders, customer specifications and drawings.
  • Assist the Quality team in working closely with the Mechanical Engineers to develop the quality plans within our manufacturing work instructions, tool gage concepts review and approval and the First Article Inspection plans.
  • Assist the team regarding the disposition of non-conforming material, Source Inspection and SPC analysis where required.
  • Provide the flow of the requirements to our suppliers.
  • Participate in the development, defining and initiating standards and methods of inspection.
  • Provide technical guidance to inspection, operators and Engineering to assure compliance to specifications, Customer requirements and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist the Quality team in the integration to ensure flow down of key characteristics, and to develop effective quality control plans.
  • Review travelers for material, special processing requirements and manufacturability
  • Flow down Customer requirements to Purchasing.
  • Participation in cause and corrective action
  • Supplier and customer communication (product and quality related)
  • Assist in review and approval of work instructions.
  • Assist in providing Quality Assurance support of Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of quality related experience
  • Must have full working knowledge in the use of inspection tools and gages, such as scribes, vernier calipers, height gages, depth gages, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gages, periphery or PI tapes, decimal scales, indicators, inspection fixtures, coordinate measuring machine and other automated measuring devices.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in technical field
  • Basic Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Understanding of AS9102/eCAV, SPS & Fix Process
  • Knowlege of AS9100 Quality Systems requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
