Quality Inspector - Pipe Field - TEMPORARY at APEX Engineered Products

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Quality Inspector to join our construction team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance and control inspections on an ASME B31.3 piping construction and fabrication project.  This role ensures that all work is completed according to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilies

• Conduct visual and nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections on materials and finished pipe products.
• Ensure that all pipeline construction activities comply with project blueprints, specifications, and client requirements.
• Inspect welding processes, including fit-up, pre-heat, and final weld visual inspection.
• Perform dimensional verification of pipe runs, fittings, and assemblies using precision measuring tools.
• Document all inspeciton results, including non-conformances, and maintain detailed accurate records.
• Work with construction and engineering teams to address and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
• Monitor and verify all aspects of pipline installation, including internal cleanliness, NDT and pressure testing.
• Ensure all safety and environmenmtla regulations are followed on-site.
• Assist with calibration of inspection equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification is a plus.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in quality control/field inspection, with a focus on piping or pressure vessels.  Previous experience with ASE B31.3 is a plus
• Certification: Relevant industry certifications are highly preferred, such as:
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level II Certification (eg., RT, UT, MT, PT)
  • NACE Coating Inspector Certification
