Quality Technician at Howmet

We are hiring Quality Technicians to become an integral part of our team in Washington, MO. Quality Technicians perform materials testing per customer specifications. They also manage work orders, maintain lab cleanliness, and conduct inventory of supplies.

No prior experience working with materials testing and environmental protocols? No problem - this entry-level role offers you hands-on training! This role thrives on being detail-oriented, highly organized, and showing a strong commitment to accuracy and safety.

Pay Rate: $18.96 per hour

Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-3p

Key Responsibilities:

• Test materials by checking acid levels, hydrogen content, and how strong or flexible they are.
• Prepare samples by cutting, bending, polishing, and cleaning them for lab testing.
• Run heat treatments and other lab processes to study how materials react.
• Organize paperwork by scanning, filing, and completing lab forms.
• Review work orders and help sort out scrap materials.
• Keep the lab clean and make sure supplies are stocked.
• Handle waste safely by using the correct containers and labels and following company procedures.
• Respond to spills like chemicals or oil using training and safety equipment.
• Help with other tasks as needed to support the lab team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to navigate and perform basic computer operations
• Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as production orders, SOPs, safety instructions, etc.
• Possess basic knowledge of math, math equations, and the ability to properly utilize various measuring instruments
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and consistently pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and maintain high standards of quality and data integrity
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close/distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust visual focus
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
