Job Title:Radiologic Technologist - $15,000 Signing Bonus Department:University Hospital | Radiology The Diagnostic division encompasses stationary and portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment located in University Hospital, East Hospital, Brain and Spine Hospital, Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital, Harding Hospital, James Cancer Hospital and OSUWMC Ambulatory Imaging locations. Plain film and fluoroscopic procedures are performed utilizing state of the art Digital Radiography equipment. The Radiologic Technologist performs fixed and mobile radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures for the diagnosis/treatment of disease or injury. In addition, the position provides patient education and performs quality assessment activities for the division, under the direction of the Imaging Supervisor/Manager. Imaging Technologist Duties – 80% of the time · Produces high quality radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging exams utilizing imaging skills for modalities as assigned. · Performs Imaging Time Out to ensure correct patient, exam, protocol and laterality are performed. · Selects proper imaging parameters on individual patient basis, safely operates equipment in accordance with imaging guidelines by the state and national organizations. · Utilizes ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) dose techniques with Digital Radiography and fluoroscopy equipment to produce high quality radiographic/fluoroscopic images. · Starts IV and/or maintains existing access lines and ports and administer contrast medication, utilizing hospital standards. · Provides general care to patients so that basic medical reacts in emergencies to initiate immediate provides information to patient/family regarding imaging procedures. · Has the authority to accept verbal orders from Licensed Practitioners for imaging procedures, following hospital policy. · Completes necessary documentation meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments necessary to meet the age specific needs of the patient population served (Check those that apply): Interacts with physicians, patients, visitors, students, and all members of the health care team. Works closely with physicians, physicians practice personnel, and radiology manager. Directly responsible to the Imaging Supervisor/Manager. Physical/Visual/Mental Requirements · Able to communicate clearly with physicians, patients, visitors, students, coworkers · Able to operate radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment to perform procedures, including moving mobile equipment to perform bedside and operating room procedures. · Able to concentrate and pay attention for periods of time up to 8 hours to perform clinical and QA functions. · Able to respond to emergency signals and indicators. · Able to operate computer systems for EMR, PACS, QA reports,
