Position Summary: 

The Oven/Blast operator is a CCP trained team member who operates, monitors, and documents all phases of the system. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Consistently and accurately maintain HACCP records.

Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.

Required to load ovens/blast correctly according to Process Control procedures including moving racks to and from ovens/blasts; will also be required to clean ovens/blast periodically.

Basic Computer Skills: including ability to do mathematical and time calculations.

Must be willing and able to cross train in other areas; could train on alternate shifts as well as work weekends & alternate shifts.

Must be an independent thinker who can work with limited direction from supervision; capable of taking own initiative to correct or solve a problem with a sincere desire to learn new tasks and skills.

Dependable, have integrity and willingness to follow instructions.

Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) product standards and guidelines including maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.

Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States

Must pass a background check, drug screen.

All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Standing (8 hours a day or more)

Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)

Reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs)

Ability to work in hot or cold environment

Gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists

Bending and stooping for long periods of time.

Using material handling equipment as needed

Moving racks by hand when material handling equipment isn’t available

Working Conditions/Department Description:

Work in damp and cold environment  

Work with loud and noisy machinery

Work in dusty environment when using spice.

Work with raw meat

Work in congested areas
