Real Estate Finance Attorney (35 Years) at Direct Counsel

Direct Counsel is working with a well-established national firm to identify a real estate associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Chicago-based real estate finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on complex real estate financing and transactional matters in a highly supportive and client-focused environment.

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of real estate transactions, including:

• Representing lenders and investors in permanent, construction, and mezzanine loan deals

• Closing acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets

• Negotiating commercial leases, including office, retail, industrial, warehouse, and healthcare properties

The firm offers early access to clients, opportunities to lead deal components, and a collaborative platform for growth.

• 3–5 years of experience in real estate finance, especially on the lender/investor side

• Strong experience with acquisition/disposition closings and commercial lease negotiations

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

• Admitted to the Illinois Bar (or in the process of obtaining admission)

• High-level client work with early responsibility and access

• Hybrid schedule: three days onsite, two remote

• Base Salary: $240,000 – $280,000 depending on experience
