Receiver at ilili Midtown
Job Description
As a Kitchen Receiver at ilili, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and organization of all perishable and non-perishable items for the kitchen team. You will report directly to the Chef de Cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive all food items, materials, and supplies
- Check incoming merchandise against order sheets for accuracy in weight, quantity, and quality
- Note discrepancies in the daily log immediately and inform Chefs to recover missing items in a timely fashion
- Maintain inventory and delivery records daily for the BOH team
- Store all items at proper temperatures and observe first-in-first-out (FIFO) standards
- Assist in transporting items to the proper location in the restaurant
- Train new Porters (as needed) on delivering excellent service while maintaining standard shift responsibilities noted above; such training to occur on-the-job with new Porters shadowing you as you perform your key responsibilities
- Assist fellow team members as needed to ensure seamless customer experience
As a member of our team you should have:
- At least 1 year of kitchen experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, kitchen, and FOH staff
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility including standing, walking, bending, and squatting for up to 8 hours
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Physical ability to lift (up to 50 lbs of weight)
- Flexible availability: weekends, nights, and holiday availability is a must!
