Location: Greenville, South Carolina

Reports to: Upstate Branch Manager

Status: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and guests at Bunnell-Lammons Engineering's Greenville office. This role is responsible for creating a professional and welcoming first impression while providing vital administrative and operational support to ensure the office runs smoothly. The Receptionist manages a busy multi-line phone system, coordinates mail and package deliveries, oversees conference room scheduling and event logistics, maintains office and break room supplies, and assists various departments with day-to-day administrative needs.

This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is organized, dependable, and enjoys supporting a collaborative team environment.


Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education (GED) equivalent required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, BLE leadership, clients, local, state and federal authorities of all levels.
  • Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS, etc).

Primary Responsibilities

Front Desk & Client Interaction

  • Greet and assist all visitors, ensuring a professional, welcoming experience.
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls on a multi-line phone system (approximately 65 lines).
  • Maintain the automated lunch message system for the main phone line during the daily lunch hour.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in person, over the phone, and through email.
  • Keep the reception and lobby areas clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

Mail, Packages, and Deliveries

  • Receive and distribute all incoming mail, packages, and courier deliveries promptly.
  • Notify recipients of received deliveries via email.
  • Prepare, meter, and process outgoing mail using the postage machine.
  • Take outgoing mail to the mailbox by 9:00 a.m. daily and retrieve delivered mail for distribution.
  • Create and track FedEx shipments as needed, providing tracking information to internal staff.

Conference Room & Event Coordination

  • Manage the calendar and scheduling for the Main Conference Room and Training Room.
  • Coordinate catering for meetings, trainings, and company events.
  • Ensure conference rooms remain clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies, including bottled water.

Office and Break room Upkeep

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all common areas, including the lobby, break room, conference rooms, and copy room.
  • Water office plants weekly.
  • Refill and organize break room supplies daily, including coffee pods, tea, creamers, sugar, plates, utensils, and cups.
  • Wipe down tables, counters, and sinks, and empty the coffee pot at the end of each day.
  • Regularly monitor office and break room supply inventory and reorder items as needed.
  • Submit receipts for purchases to the Office Manager for record keeping.
  • Notify staff of refrigerator cleaning once a month.

Office Equipment Support

  • Check copier daily to ensure paper levels are stocked and the machine is functioning properly.
  • Contact service providers for maintenance or repairs when needed.

Administrative Support

  • Assist Accounting with processing incoming checks and other Accounts Receivable tasks.
  • Provide W-9 forms to clients or vendors upon request.
  • Support general administrative functions and corporate projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Daily work schedule 8:00 - 3:00 M-F

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Mid- Sized office Receptionist/Administrator within a engineering and/or construction company.
  • Previous experience managing a medium to large multi-line phone system.
