We are looking for a detail-oriented Receptionist to join our team in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This Contract position involves providing essential administrative and clerical support to the court systems while ensuring accurate processing of court documents. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.


Responsibilities:

• Process a variety of court documents, including civil cases, small claims, criminal warrants, and ordinance violations.

• Collect and record civil filing fees, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.

• Manage case schedules, monitor deadlines, and prepare dockets for non-jury trials.

• Identify and correct discrepancies within the case management system software.

• Input citations into the court's computer system and ensure data accuracy.

• Create and distribute criminal warrants, coordinate with the Sheriff's Office for service, and schedule hearings.

• Notify victims of bond hearings and inmate releases, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation.

• Handle jury trial processes, including scheduling, mailing notifications, maintaining juror records, and issuing payments.

• Balance daily cash receipts, prepare bank deposits, and reconcile financial statements for monthly and annual reporting.

• Provide clerical support during court sessions, including docket management, case disposition, and issuance of bench warrants.

• Familiarity with modern office practices and procedures.

• Knowledge of legal terminology and Magistrate Court functions.

• Proficiency in bookkeeping and accounting principles.

• Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, calculators, and copiers.

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the public.

• High school diploma or equivalent education level.

• Minimum of one to two years of relevant experience in a similar administrative or clerical role.
