As a Recreational Gymnastics Coach, you’ll bring the energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement that makes every class an unforgettable experience. You’ll lead safe, high-energy gymnastics classes for athletes of all ages and skill levels—always with a smile and a supportive spirit. With positivity and structure, you’ll help kids develop confidence, coordination, strength, and teamwork, while inspiring them to discover the joy of movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct weekly gymnastics classes for preschool, beginner, and intermediate-level athletes.
- Create a welcoming and supportive class environment aligned with Dominique Dawes Academy's philosophy of holistic child development.
- Follow class plans, skill progressions, and safety protocols provided by the academy’s leadership team.
- Provide age-appropriate instruction that challenges athletes while encouraging progress and fun.
- Offer verbal and physical spotting and corrections to ensure skill development and safety.
- Positively engage with parents before and after classes to provide feedback and build community.
- Maintain a clean and organized training space and assist in setting up/taking down equipment as needed.
- Monitor athletes closely and respond promptly to injuries or safety concerns, following gym protocols.
- Collaborate with teammates and management to ensure smooth class transitions and rotations.
- Attend required staff training sessions, team meetings, and seasonal evaluations.
- Represent the academy’s values of respect, teamwork, and excellence in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Experience working with children in instructional, athletic, or recreational settings (preferred)
- Background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or another movement-based discipline (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred
Work Schedule & Environment
- Weekday afternoon/evening and weekend morning shifts available
- Classes are held in an indoor gym environment with frequent interaction with children and families
- Must be available for consistent weekly scheduling during the school year
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate physical skills and actively engage with students
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, lifting, and moving equipment
- Must be able to spot athletes safely and provide physical assistance as needed
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and work in a physically active, fast-paced environment
