Position Summary

Oversee and execute logistics and trade compliance operations across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and strict adherence to import, export, and domestic regulations. This role emphasizes hands-on management of export controls, shipment coordination, and compliance processes to support business needs and regulatory requirements.

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

  • Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required.
  • Travel within North America up to 15%.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Lead logistics and trade compliance operations across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of import, export, and domestic shipments, providing guidance and support to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods.
  • Ensure accurate classification of products under ECCN and HTS codes by reviewing team outputs and resolving escalated issues.
  • Manage compliance with Duty Drawback programs, Foreign Trade Zones, Free Trade Agreements (e.g., USMCA), and U.S. Goods Return processes.
  • Monitor logistics performance and ensure service levels meet project and business needs; intervene when necessary to resolve delays or issues.
  • Maintain oversight of ERP data integrity related to logistics and trade compliance; drive improvements in data accuracy and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Global Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager to evaluate and manage logistics service providers and ensure performance standards are met.
  • Provide daily leadership to the regional logistics and trade compliance team, ensuring clear direction, consistent execution, and accountability in support of operational and regulatory objectives.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and compliance health.
  • Support the implementation of tools and technologies that enhance logistics and compliance capabilities.
  • Perform other leadership and oversight duties as required.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on logistics and trade compliance experience in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with U.S. and Canadian import/export regulations and logistics processes.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Duty Drawback, FTAs, and U.S. Goods Return procedures.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident

DESIRED:

  • Management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle), and trade compliance tools.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with ECCN and HTS classification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Organization & Prioritization - Manages multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
