Pay Rate:$ 50-$53.00/hr, W2

Summary
We are seeking a skilled Linguist to support the development of language components for voice-enabled technologies and products. This role involves linguistic data analysis, LLM-powered data synthesis, data annotation, prompt engineering, localization, and quality evaluations. The ideal candidate brings deep linguistic expertise, experience with multilingual data, and a strong understanding of modern language technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide linguistic expertise across syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and related domains

  • Collaborate with linguists and data operations teams on data collection, curation, translation, localization, and annotation

  • Evaluate, curate, and prepare datasets for ML models using LLM-driven solutions

  • Assess model output and data quality

  • Develop and refine prompts for LLM workflows

  • Create consistent and complex linguistic analyses in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and corpus linguistics

  • Experience working with speech and text data in multiple languages

  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and related applications

  • Hands-on experience with database queries and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, RegEx, spreadsheets, R, Unix)

  • Python experience

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Must Have Skills:

Linguistics - English is key but any additional languages would help as well
and some programming skills - Python preferred - must be comfortable and experienced conducting programming

SQL or R

Technical profile - Expectation to do some work stream management- working with vendors, coordinating tasks, keeping a tracker, - good team player and communicator.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python

  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, NLP libraries, and related tools

Education:

  • Masters degree in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Speech Science, or a related discipline

  • PhD in Linguistics, Romance Languages, Computational Linguistics, Speech Science, or related field
