Job Overview
The Program Coordinator is a member of the Abilities Midwest management team. In this role, the PC will primarily work with residents, along with the Residential Program Staff & Regional Program Manager. A strong candidate will be a natural leader who is eager to learn and shares our desire to make a positive impact on individuals with disabilities, while encouraging active & meaningful recreation for each resident. Our residents enjoy going to the YMCA, the movie theater, community walks, out-to-eats, theme parks, and much more! It is a FUN place to work while making a difference! The ideal candidate will be creative and willing to engage in a variety of activities along with the below duties.
Primary Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of two Adult Family Home programs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.
- Understand and carry out the company's philosophy, mission, and overall goals and objectives.
- Ensure overall compliance in the homes with programming, resident care, and licensing requirements.
- Implement individualized programs that address the unique needs of the residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to program management, resident progress, and staff performance.
- Assist Regional Program Manager to manage budgets effectively to ensure resources are allocated appropriately for program needs.
- Assist Regional Program Manager with other duties as assigned (i.e. grocery shopping, ordering medications, basic resident appointments).
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and other necessary team members.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, demonstrating compassion and understanding. Experience working with individuals with Prader Willi syndrome would be helpful, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Skills that encourage teamwork and professional growth among staff members, excellent relationship management abilities, and fostering trust and collaboration within the team.
- Creative and engaging ideas that allow for our residents to be active in their communities
- Interest in fitness or willingness to learn in order to foster active & healthy lifestyles for the residents.
- Background in assisted living, social work or related fields is preferred, enhancing the ability to advocate for residents' needs.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm with flexibility to cover other shifts and weekends as needed . A shared on-call rotation is in place within the leadership team, with a focus on the importance of work-life balance. A variety of benefits are also available and can be discussed during the interview process.
Must be over the age of 18 years, have a valid drivers license, and pass a background check.
