Revenue Cycle Analyst- Posting

Team Purpose: The Posting Integrity team focuses on building the foundational systems, processes, and capabilities that enable posting excellence across the organization. They develop training materials and support structures, manage escalation frameworks, optimize workflow documentation, and partner on strategic product initiatives. The team also drives Agile maturation, conducts business testing, and provides analytical support to enhance quality and reduce costs throughout posting operations.

Role Purpose: Executes defined tasks and processes within established procedures to support team objectives. Ensures accuracy and quality in assigned work while developing foundational skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities & Success Measures:

80% Task-Based Work

  • Executes assigned tasks accurately and within established timeframes, meeting quality standards and SLA requirements
  • Follows documented procedures and escalates exceptions appropriately when standard processes don't apply
  • Maintains detailed records and documentation as required by team protocols
  • Prioritizes work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

10% Trend Identification/Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

  • Identifies and surfaces system and workflow deficiencies or potential improvements to immediate supervisor
  • Asks clarifying questions when encountering unfamiliar situations rather than making assumptions
  • Demonstrates basic problem-solving skills within defined parameters

10% Training & Professional Development

  • Participates actively in training opportunities and demonstrates commitment to skill development
  • Accepts and implements both positive and constructive feedback
  • Shares relevant information with team members as appropriate
  • Adheres to and embodies athena's core values and behaviors

Decision-Making Authority: Makes decisions about task execution methods within established procedures. Escalates exceptions, quality issues, and process questions to supervisor. Influences work prioritization through communication about capacity and obstacles.

Scope & Complexity: Works on well-defined tasks with clear parameters and established procedures. Handles routine issues independently but escalates complex or ambiguous situations. Impact is primarily on individual work quality and team task completion.

Key Relationships: Works closely with immediate team members and supervisor. Collaborates with Posting Integrity Stakeholders to complete assigned tasks. Reports progress and issues to direct supervisor regularly.

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures accurately
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer navigation
  • General knowledge and understanding of RCM Posting Processes

What Distinguishes This Level: Focuses on accurate execution of defined tasks rather than process design or improvement. Works within established procedures with regular supervision and guidance. To advance to Sr. Analyst, must demonstrate ability to work more independently, identify process improvements, and handle increased complexity in task assignments.

 

Expected Compensation

$41,000 - $71,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
