Pay: $30–$35/hour + $120/day per diem

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a long-term steel erection project in Fort Wayne, IN. This is a full-time role with 50-hour work weeks and per diem offered for qualified travelers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, specifically in steel erection or heavy structural work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee site safety for all steel erection activities
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analysis (JHAs)
- Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections
- Investigate incidents and ensure proper reporting and corrective actions
- Work closely with site leadership to maintain a safety-first culture
Requirements:
- 3+ years of construction safety experience (steel erection experience strongly preferred)
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Ability to lead safety initiatives and gain crew buy-in
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to work 50 hours/week
