ABOUT THE ROLE
Inc. & Fast Company is seeking a highly motivated Freelance Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help drive membership growth across our membership programs.
These exclusive membership communities are for senior business leaders, offering networking, visibility, and thought leadership opportunities. This is a high-volume, high-impact sales role where you will be responsible for building relationships with prospective members, booking a steady pipeline of sales calls, and converting those calls into new memberships.
This position is ideal for a driven sales professional who is energized by outreach, confident speaking with senior executives, and motivated by both base pay and strong performance incentives.
This is a 3-month contract position. Hourly rate: $25 (40 hours a week). Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Lead Generation & Outreach
- Conduct high-volume outbound outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to connect with qualified prospects.
- Leverage tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and engage potential members.
Pipeline & Call Management
- Consistently book 50+ qualified sales calls per week.
- Ensure a minimum of 30 held calls per week (excluding no-shows and reschedules).
- Maintain detailed records of all outreach, calls, and outcomes in specified systems.
Collaboration & Messaging
- Work with membership and marketing teams to refine messaging, targeting, and outreach strategies.
- Provide feedback from prospects to improve lead quality and sales efficiency.
Performance Tracking & Results
- Deliver on monthly sales targets, with an expected conversion rate of 1 in 3 held calls.
- Contribute to the goal of onboarding 30–50 new members per month, aligning with historical benchmarks.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven Sales Experience: At least 2–3 years in outbound B2B sales, lead generation, or appointment setting, preferably in a membership, media, or professional services environment.
- Executive Presence: Confident and polished communicator with experience engaging senior-level business professionals.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
- Results-Oriented: Motivated by clear goals, high activity, and measurable outcomes.
- Organized & Disciplined: Able to manage a high-volume pipeline while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Independent & Reliable: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision, while consistently meeting performance expectations.
