Position Summary
Work with customers on finding or designing the perfect pieces of furniture for their home or business. Process corresponding sales paperwork. Assist with the receiving of customer orders, provide white-glove furniture delivery, and help maintain customer relationships. Learn the ins and outs of customer service and the furniture business.
Our ideal candidate is honest, organized, curious, flexible, and respectful, with a willingness to jump in and lend a hand on whatever needs done at the moment. Must be able to lift at least 100 lbs.
Key Business Functions
- Sales and customer service— assist customers with their furniture questions and needs, leading to their eventual purchase; cover the sales floor with other staff; write up orders and quotes; finalize purchases and work with all staff through completion of orders.
- Purchasing/paperwork – Enter orders into Quickbooks, track orders, create purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding order details and status.
- Shipping/Receiving - Help with receiving our weekly furniture shipments from suppliers. Assist with furniture pickups and deliveries as necessary, maintaining and building customer relationships along the way. Work with transit companies to coordinate pickups and deliveries of customer furniture.
- Inventory—Maintain inventory and pricing in Quickbooks. Work with the manager to keep in-stock inventory arranged and cleaned appropriately on the showroom floor.
- Meetings and Events – attend staff meetings, mandatory store events, and the annual Amish Furniture Show.
Salary & Benefits
$38,000-$42,000 + commission and annual bonuses
