SAP Junior Technical Support Engineer
Type: Contract W2
Length: 12+ months
Location: Onsite in Columbia, South Carolina (Candidates permitted to relocate to SC)
Hours: 40 per week, flexible scheduling may be required
Role Overview
We are seeking a SAP Junior Technical Support Engineer to support HR systems modernization and ongoing operations. This role focuses on configuring, maintaining, and enhancing SAP ECC HR modules (SCEIS platform) and related HR systems. The engineer will implement configuration changes, optimize workflows, improve data quality, and support reporting needs. Collaboration with HR, IT, and Finance teams is essential to ensure system functionality aligns with business and compliance requirements.
Required Skills
Ø Handson experience with SAP ECC HR modules (configuration, testing, troubleshooting)
Ø Knowledge of state HR/payroll processes and data privacy standards (HIPAA, FLSA)
Ø Strong skills in data validation, integrity monitoring, and issue resolution
Ø Advanced reporting/dashboard development with SAP tools, Excel, Power BI
Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
Ø Experience with rolebased access control (RBAC) and positiondriven access configuration
Ø Familiarity with IT security standards (NIST 80053, FISMA, SC InfoSec)
Ø Experience with IT development and implementation projects
Ø Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation
Key Responsibilities
v Configure and maintain SAP ECC HR modules to support evolving business needs
v Optimize workflows to reduce manual processes and improve data integrity
v Execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes
v Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SAP tools, Excel, and Power BI
v Monitor and improve data accuracy across HR systems
v Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating as needed
v Create and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, configuration records, user guides)
v Provide technical support and training for HR system users
v Ensure compliance with IT security and regulatory standards (NIST, FISMA, HIPAA, FLSA)
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
