Security Officer (PRN/On Call) at Williamsburg Landing
Job Description
Williamsburg Landing, a CARF-accredited life plan community, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer to respond to resident needs and emergencies, monitor and respond to alarms, maintain traffic control, and investigate accidents, injuries and disturbances, as required.
This Officer will fill in vacant shifts as needed. Shifts could be 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm or 11pm-7:30am.
PAY
Starting pay rate is $15.50/hr. and is commensurate with experience.
SECURITY OFFICER JOB DUTIES
- Coordinates and participates in emergency situations, providing detailed documentation of activities during the shift and writes articulate incidents reports
 - Reports unsafe conditions to the Security Manager to facilitate quick corrective action
 - Responds to drills, disasters, fire alarms, or other emergency incidents and provides necessary support and controls
 - Maintains a secure and reliable key/access control system
 - Monitors and controls access to Williamsburg Landing property; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to property; screens visitors, contractors, vendors, suppliers, guests, and employees in an efficient manner to expedite admittance to property
 - Patrols property and site buildings checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems and unauthorized persons; inspects buildings and grounds on a defined schedule; periodically patrols property
 - Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to management and/or public safety authorities
 - Assists others during emergencies that may include providing emergency First Aid, CPR, AED, and manually lifting or transporting those in a compromised state
 
Employees may be required to work overtime or variable shifts and be on call.
SECURITY OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
 - Current Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License required
 - Ability to read & write clearly in English; ability to speak clearly over the phone/hand-held radio
 - Ability to climb stairs, get in & out of a motor vehicle unassisted, ability to stand & walk for long periods of time
 - Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach during the normal course of the day
 - Ability to complete the Department Field Training Program within 30 days of hire
 - Ability to obtain a CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
