Seeking Staff Anesthesiologist for Excellent VA Opportunity in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest - Portland, Oregon Position Information The VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) in Portland OR is actively recruiting to fill a Board Certified Staff Anesthesiologist Physician (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes . Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at Oregon Health the case mix for generalists includes general surgery, urology, orthopedics, vascular surgery, otolaryngology, podiatry, dental, gynecology, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, ophthalmology, plastics, transplant, plus non-OR anesthesiology support for electroconvulsive therapy, interventional pulmonology, gastroenterology, electrophysiology, general cardiology and interventional radiology. Cardiac surgery cases are reserved for those with cardiac anesthesia fellowship training or a significant amount of prior experience in practice, including perioperative TEE certification. Given our patient population, we do not have any obstetrics, pediatrics, or trauma at VAPORHCS. Generalists should be facile with line placement and regional anesthesiology procedures as well as with the management of medically complex patients undergoing a wide variety of procedures. The ideal candidate must be strongly motivated to provide the highest level of clinical care for veteran and world-class education and training for trainees and students. Candidates should be committed to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity, and positive labor relations. An OHSU academic appointment will be commensurate with experience. Work Schedule : Full-time, Monday-Friday plus night/weekend/holiday home call. Anesthesiology service is on 5/4/9 schedule with one weekday guaranteed off per 2-week pay period. Guaranteed post-call day following first call assignment. Must be U.S. Citizen Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology Community Information Portland, Oregon is a thriving city with distinct and interesting neighborhoods, full of good restaurants and bars, coffee shops on every corner, locally made beer and wine, and hundreds of food carts where you can try out food from around the world.
