DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Senior Accountant, you will be providing professional guidance and monitoring of day-to day accounting activity for the Department of Human Services within the purview of the Human Services Unit in General Accounting. You will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of federal financial reports and fund financial statements. You will also have the opportunity to routinely interact with the various local, state, and federal entities involved in the work of the unit. In this role, you will serve as the manager's delegate for leading projects, facilitating presentations, refining internal processes, and establishing procedures. This position supervises one Executive Accounting Specialist position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: All new employees with the Commonwealth will start at the minimum salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
- Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
