TheSenior Accountant is jointly responsible for financial andaccounting activities within a McLane Company, Inc. grocerydivision. They also have frontline supervisory and leadershipresponsibilities for the division's non-exempt accountingteam.

What you'll doas a Senior Accountant:
- Share responsibilityfor all aspects of the financial reporting of a division, suchas:
- Financial statement preparation andmanagement including advanced balance sheetreconciliations
- Support all departments inexpense control to include review andanalysis
- Set up, maintain, and inventory fixedassets
- Prepare documents for internal andexternal audits
- Maintain compliance withGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX), McLane accounting policies, best practices and otherinternal controls
- Assist in preparing theannual budget
- Prepare,file and pay product excise taxes and other taxes as neededincluding:
- Forecast and facilitate the purchaseof excise tax indicia
- Assist in meetingphysical security and internal control objectives of tax indiciaand taxable product
- Facilitate variousjurisdictional audit and informationrequests
- Supervise andtrain accounting department clericalstaff
Qualificationsyou'll bring as a Senior Accountant:
- Have a Bachelor'sDegree in Accounting
- Be a Certified PublicAccountant (CPA) or CPA-in-progress preferred
- Possess 3 or more years of accountingexperience
- Have strong Microsoft Office skills(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Have OracleE-Business Suite experience preferred
- Possessstrong analytical skills
- Possess strong writtenand verbal communication skills
- Have theability to organize, forecast and meetdeadlines
- This position requires the ability toread, write, and understand English at a level sufficient toperform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includesunderstanding work instructions, safety protocols, andcommunications essential to the role. The requirement is directlyrelated to the nature of the job and ensures compliance withworkplace safety and operationalstandards.
