Job SummaryThis position is responsible for providing administrative support for the operations of the School of Education.

Processes student paperwork - 15%
- Ensures that students have a completed Background Check, Mandated Reporter Training, Liability Insurance, and Major Related Ethics Assessment prior to registering for Major Related Education courses.
- Ensures that teacher candidates maintain liability insurance.
- Releases teacher candidates to register for courses.
- Assigns students to School of Education faculty advisors
Provides support the Dean, Department Chair, and faculty - 38%
- Assists the Dean and faculty members with multiple projects.
- Attends meetings and records minutes.
- Compiles data and prepares reports.
- Prepares contracts for part-time faculty.
- Creates door schedules for faculty office hours
Enters course data - 17%
- Enters semester Schedule of Classes into Banner system.
- Makes class updates, additions, deletions, corrections, etc.
- Updates prerequisites as needed. 
- Processes approved changes into the catalog.
- Updates course descriptions and program sheets.
- Creates independent studies as needed.
Maintains department inventories and makes purchases - 15%
- Maintains supply inventory; checks stock to determine inventory level.
- Orders office supplies.
- Handles department purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Maintains purchasing records. 
- Uses PCard to complete purchases and completes monthly PCard reports.
Provides administrative support for office operations - 15%
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers questions to appropriate personnel. 
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Coordinates the maintenance of office equipment.
- Coordinates meetings, luncheons/dinners for stakeholders. 
- Coordinates administrative duties with student workers.
-Supervises student workers. 
- Performs related duties.
Required Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience is required.
- More than three years of related experience required

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of college and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
SKILLS
- Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
- Skill in the management of files and records.
- Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
