Job Overview The Senior Research Associate for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training (CCTST) will play a leadership role in advancing the CCTST’s Community Stakeholder Engagement objectives by facilitating interdisciplinary, community-engaged translational research. This position will be filled by an individual with expertise in community-engaged scholarship and experience collaborating with faculty, community partners, and interdisciplinary research teams. The Senior Research Associate will support the design and implementation of community-engaged research studies, assist faculty and partners in navigating research processes, and lead the development of manuscripts and reports that disseminate findings in both academic publications and community settings. This position will also help supervise the Research Associate and provide mentorship to trainees and staff involved in community-engaged research. Through this work, the Senior Research Associate will be fundamental in strengthening UC’s capacity for impactful, equitable, and sustainable community-academic partnerships. Essential Functions Research Support and Facilitation Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to develop and implement community-engaged translational research projects. Provide guidance on study design, IRB processes, regulatory compliance, and grant development. Assist faculty and partners in preparing community-engaged research proposals and project deliverables. Dissemination and Scholarship Lead or support the development of academic manuscripts, reports, and presentations summarizing community-engaged research findings. Ensure research findings are disseminated to both academic audiences and community stakeholders through multiple formats (publications, community forums, briefs, web-based tools). Promote recognition of community-engaged research as scholarly work across the university and partner networks. Essential Functions (cont'd) Program Development and Capacity Building Contribute to the design and evaluation of new community engagement programs and initiatives. Facilitate workshops, trainings, and events to strengthen research capacity among faculty, students, and community partners. Serve as a thought partner in developing strategies to integrate community engagement across UC’s research portfolio. Leadership and Supervision Supervise and mentor the Research Associate, ensuring coordination of day-to-day community engagement operations. Provide leadership and guidance to students, fellows, and staff engaged in CCTST community stakeholder activities. Represent the CCTST in campus-wide and community meetings to advance stakeholder engagement goals. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Required Experience Three (3) years of experience in related field, process or discipline.
