The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in pre-construction and bidding processes, providing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale commercial and multifamily projects. This position requires deep expertise in both negotiated and lump sum/hard dollar bids, ensuring the company maintains its reputation for precision and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial and multifamily projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate budgets.
- Manage bid processes for both negotiated and hard-dollar projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment on scope and pricing.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Implement value engineering strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and labor rates.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of hardcore commercial and multifamily estimating experience.
- Proven track record in both negotiated and lump sum/hard dollar bid environments.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
