Senior Java Engineer / Full time in Willowbrook, IL at Motion Recruitment

A Willowbrook, IL-based veteran-owned company is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to reinforce and enhance its suite of real-time applications used in security environments, including defense, critical infrastructure, and nuclear security. This role is central to the company's mission of modernizing legacy systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

This is a full-time, onsite position (5 days/week) where you’ll work alongside a small, dedicated team of engineers. It’s a great opportunity for a developer who thrives in collaborative environments and wants to see their work make a direct impact in industries like telecom and fintech.

Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience
• Strong understanding of multithreading and real-time data streaming
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• U.S. Citizenship is required 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in telecom, fintech, or other real-time system environments
• Background in security-sensitive industries
• Familiarity with Svelte or modern frontend framework

Daily Responsibilities 
• 80% hands-on coding and system design / 20% leadership responsibilities
• Building and strengthening real time applications with a goal of modernization
