Job Summary:

The Senior Payroll Specialist will manage and process payroll for U.S. locations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will work independently, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Review and validate payroll data including new hires, terminations, bonuses, and benefit deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports for audits and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations across all applicable jurisdictions.
  • Support year-end processes including W-2s, 1099s, and international equivalents.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience and Training:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including international payroll.
  • Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll laws; familiarity with international payroll practices preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $85,000. It is important to Calero that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate. Please note that the top of the salary range represents exceptional, and/or senior-level positions, that meet all required qualifications.
