Job Summary

The Senior Program Manager provides operational leadership for all programs within the Department of Health Sciences (online prerequisites, pre-health certificate, BSHS, DA, and HA). Work will include student support and organization, budget, personnel, academic proposals, accreditation reports, and policy interpretation. This role emphasizes program management, transfer coordination, and student progression to support diverse learners. The position requires close interaction and cooperation with leadership (program, department, and college), institutional partners (Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student and Alumni Services, Information Technology, and Mission Vision and Community Excellence), and external partners (2U, Collegis, CAEL). The Program Manager will become knowledgeable about the Institute and academic offerings within the department to effectively communicate and represent the department, programs, and course offerings.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management and Administration

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department, including course scheduling, faculty assignments, and coordination with registrar.
  • Oversee academic calendars, key deadlines, and internal communications to ensure efficient program function.
  • Support program assessment, annual reporting, and data collection processes in collaboration with departmental and institutional leadership.
  • Lead student orientation, onboarding, and program-related events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program inquiries, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with marketing and admissions teams to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.

Budget and Financial Management

  • Oversee the program’s budget, including planning, monitoring, and reconciliation of expenditures.
  • Manage payments for personnel, including term lecturers.
  • Track spending trends, project future costs, and develop annual budget forecasts to ensure responsible stewardship of institutional resources.
  • Provide periodic financial reports and recommendations to departmental and institutional leadership.

Transfer Equivalency and Academic Pathways

  • Oversee and maintain the transfer equivalency process to ensure accurate and timely evaluation of external coursework.
  • Collaborate with the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, and academic departments to develop and update transfer equivalency guides, articulation agreements, and transfer credit policies.
  • Evaluate external course content for alignment with program learning outcomes and credit-hour expectations.
  • Provide guidance to advisors, faculty, and prospective students regarding transfer credit applicability and degree completion pathways.

Student Support and Advising

  • Oversee advising and progression review processes for students.
  • Monitor student performance and coordinate intervention strategies for those experiencing academic or personal challenges.
  • Collaborate with student services, registrar, and advising teams to ensure consistent and proactive academic support.
  • Promote inclusive and equitable learning environments that recognize diverse backgrounds and learner needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline. Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education program management, student services, or academic administration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and student-centered learning.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize among deliverables

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Experience with transfer equivalencies, articulation agreements, and academic advising.
  • Familiarity with student information systems, degree audit tools, and learning management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and coordinate across departments.
  • Strong skills in continuous quality improvement with the ability to identify and communicate actionable strategies to leadership, and implements solutions accordingly.
  • Experience working with dynamic, fast-growing online academic programs and supporting the unique needs of adult and nontraditional learners.
