Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, development, and execution of complex litigation cases from intake through verdict.
- Serve as lead counsel on high-exposure personal injury and elder abuse trials.
- Supervise and mentor associate attorneys and litigation team members.
- Oversee discovery, depositions, expert preparation, and trial readiness.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
- Develop litigation strategies in alignment with overall firm goals.
- Provide exceptional communication and service to clients throughout case progression.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and firm-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate reporting of case progress, outcomes, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Active member of the State Bar of California, in good standing.
- Minimum 5+ years of litigation and trial experience, preferably in personal injury or elder abuse law.
- Demonstrated success in jury trials and strong courtroom advocacy skills.
- Proven ability to manage a large caseload efficiently (50+ active cases).
- Excellent legal writing, research, and negotiation abilities.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative approach.
- Advanced knowledge of California civil procedure and evidence rules.
- Proficiency in legal software and case management systems (Litify experience a plus).
- Professional, organized, and dependable with strong time management skills.
- Performance Expectations
- Lead and successfully try a minimum of five cases per year.
- Ensure consistent progress and communication across all active litigation files.
- Achieve strong client satisfaction through responsiveness and effective results.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all client and courtroom interactions.
- Mentor associates and foster a positive, learning-oriented team culture.
