Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Part-Time

Summary: A server ensures guests have an exceptional dining experience by providing excellent customer service, taking accurate food and drink orders, and delivering meals efficiently. The server must maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including daily specials and beverage options, and work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Interaction:

    • Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
    • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary restrictions.
    • Make recommendations based on guests' preferences.
  2. Order Taking:

    • Accurately take food and drink orders using Toast POS system.
    • Communicate special requests and dietary restrictions to the kitchen and bar staff.
  3. Service Delivery:

    • Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
    • Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and upsell additional items when appropriate
  4. Team Collaboration:

    • Assist other servers and staff during busy periods.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  5. Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all restaurant policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
    • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, preferably has worked with Toast
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
