Short Order Cook - High-Volume Breakfast/Lunch Specialist
Do you thrive on extreme speed and consistency? We consistently produce 200+ breakfast sandwiches by 6 AM and often exceed 250+ on busy days! We are seeking a hyper-efficient Short Order Cook to be the driving engine of our kitchen. This is a crucial, high-intensity role demanding a specialist who can consistently produce 50 finished sandwiches per hour during peak times, handling both hot and cold food components.
Work Hours: This is a dedicated position offering 30-40 hours per week.
What You'll Own & Why It Matters (The Cook's Mission):Own the Heat & Volume: You are solely responsible for operating the grill and fryer. This includes cooking all eggs, bacon, sausage, and meats in high-volume, rapid batches with unwavering quality.
Rapid Production Mastery: Consistently produce 50 sandwiches per hour by expertly cooking all hot components (breakfast/lunch meats, hot side orders) and assembling/finishing cold components and hot/cold sandwiches.
The Expediter & Traffic Controller: Seamlessly manage the flow of orders. This includes handling phone-in and walk-in orders on top of the main sandwich line production. Communicate clearly and non-stop with the Line Cook to sequence production and maintain speed during the intense morning rush and sustained lunch period.
Time Management Expert: Execute rapid-fire cooking with precise timing to maintain a constant flow of perfectly cooked product. Your efficiency directly determines our speed of service and reputation.
Food Safety is Non-Negotiable: Maintain strict temperature control and cooking standards for all food items. Zero margin for error. Your precision ensures food safety and product consistency across every single order.
Station Management: Maintain a spotless cooking area, clean equipment immediately during downtime, and communicate supply needs clearly and constantly to the Line Cook (your support).
Volume Experience (2+ years REQUIRED): Proven experience cooking in extremely high-volume environments (e.g., military kitchens, large diners, quick-serve production). You must be comfortable with the pace of production cooking, not just a la carte.
Relentless Punctuality: Given the early start times (including weekends), reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable. We depend on you to start the day.
Speed and Consistency: Must demonstrate mastery in producing perfect, consistent results under extreme time pressure and high-volume demand.
Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain a high-intensity pace, stand for long shifts, and withstand the heat of a busy cooking station.
