Position Overview
We're seeking a hands-on, tech-savvy professional with strong IT and programming skills and at least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment. This role bridges the gap between office and plant floor operations, supporting systems that ensure smooth and efficient performance. Responsibilities include developing custom applications, supporting PLC/HMI systems, configuring servers and industrial PCs, and working with SQL databases. Some local travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support custom applications for industrial environments
- Configure and maintain servers, PCs, and network infrastructure
- Support and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems
- Work with SQL databases to manage and optimize data-driven applications
- Assist in creating dashboards, reporting tools, and historian systems
- Contribute to technical documentation such as control narratives and testing plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide on-site support and commissioning as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to IT systems, automation, or process improvement
- Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing queries
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C#, or C++
- Familiarity with PC/server setup, networking, and troubleshooting
- Exposure to PLC and HMI systems (programming experience is a plus but not required)
- Experience with data reporting tools or historian systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel locally for project support
