Job Title: Software Quality Engineer Job Location: Fort Worth TX 76101 Onsite Requirements: Minimum 11 years of directly related experience in aerospace/defense industry software processes (e.g., RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498). Experience with government customer and FAA projects preferred. Basic understanding of audit techniques and familiarity with software development and testing methodologies. Job Description: This role monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, confirming that aircraft-delivered software meets company standards and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with systems and software development teams, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers. Ensure effective communication and teamwork with excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills. Rapidly develop an understanding of the software process audit scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestones. Review and approve systems, software, and test equipment requirements, as well as design and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards. Engage with engineering counterparts to ensure processes and products meet contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Participate in software change control boards. Conduct audits of software suppliers, requiring moderate travel. Mentor and train junior employees as needed. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred). Qualifications: Minimum 11 years of directly related experience in aerospace/defense industry software processes (e.g., RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498). Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts to support process review and development. Experience in software requirements development, design, and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded languages). Background or knowledge in embedded software/hardware verification. Strong technical communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
