Position Title: Solderer
Department: Production
Reports to: Area Lead
Wage Range: $20-$26
We are seeking a skilled Solderer to join our Production team. This position is responsible for assembling electronic products according to drawings and documentation requirements, performing soldering and rework on through-hole (TH) and surface mount (SMT) components, and ensuring products meet IPC and company quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, works well within a team, and maintains high standards of workmanship and safety.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assemble electronic products to drawing and documentation requirements
- TH-hole and SMT components; Prep, install, remove, touch-up, by hand soldering
- Perform modifications to printed circuit boards including wires/jumper wires, and trace cut.
- Perform mechanical assembly using work orders, production drawings, sample assemblies or verbal instructions.
- Ability to read, understand, and navigate Fusion/Factory Logix documentation.
- Prepping, stuffing, and assisting selective solder operations.
- Operate in-line and batch washers per work instructions
- Operate Board heaters per work instructions
- Depanel assemblies per work instructions
- Inspect your work and others to the IPC-A-610 class per documentation
- Track job status and time using MES
- Become IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certified and retain those certifications
- Become IPC-7711certified (if team indicates the need for more qualified personnel)
- Take instruction, ask questions, and work well with others
- Maintain 6S standards and continually look for ways to improve processes
- Follow safety, ESD, ITAR and QMS protocols
- Actively participate in Lean activities and embrace change
- Follow the procedures as defined in the QMS that pertain to your area or position
- Perform epoxy, RTV, or potting requirements per documentation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, as required by job tasks
- Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed work, including the ability to inspect work under a microscope when necessary
- Must be able to pass a vision exam with a minimum visual acuity of 20/25 in at least one eye, with or without corrective lenses
- Must be able to pass a color vision test to accurately distinguish color-coded components or materials
Minimum Qualifications:
Soldering experience
Production experience
Good verbal and written skills
Ability to work within a team
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years soldering experience
IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711 certified
Worked in a production environment for 2 years
Excellent interpersonal skills
