Position SummaryThe Sous Chef is a key member of our culinary leadership team, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. This includes supervising line cooks, maintaining food quality and consistency, managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety, and helping execute menu items with precision during peak service hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain a high standard of culinary excellence and teamwork.
Oversee food preparation, presentation, and consistency to ensure dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
Maintain strict compliance with NYC health and safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels, place food and supply orders, and control food and labor costs.
Help develop new menu items and specials aligned with seasonal availability and customer preferences.
Lead the kitchen team during service, ensuring smooth coordination between the line, prep, and front of house.
- Step in as acting chef in the Executive Chef’s absence.
 
Minimum 3–5 years of culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or sous chef role.
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen — NYC experience strongly preferred.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is a plus.
Proven ability to manage, train, and lead diverse kitchen teams.
Strong understanding of inventory management, food costing, and labor control.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
NYC Food Protection Certificate required.
