Job Description
Narkara is a new upscale casual Thai restaurant in Union Square, New York City. Our restaurant draws inspiration from the Mekhong Delta region, with a focus on the distinct flavors of Northern and Northeastern Thailand. With a seating capacity of 140, Narkara aims to immerse guests in the vibrant culture and culinary traditions of this unique part of Thailand.
We are currently looking for passionate hospitality professionals to join our team!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Required to expedite food from the line stations and responsible for arranging tickets and ordering food preparation so that customers receive food in the order it should be sent out
- Must ensure that all kitchen staff are performing at the level required by kitchen management
- Tasting products produced in the station to insure quality, presentation and consistency standards meet company standards
- Assist with the development of standardized recipes for all menu items. Ensures that recipes are accurate and updated as needed
- Responsible for complete set up, cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas
- Must be a team leader and motivator for the kitchen staff
- Must assist with documenting and enforcing food safety procedures and workplace safety procedures
- Sous Chef must be able to assign cleaning schedules to kitchen porters and follow up until completion
- Must have a valid food handler's certification
- Schedule labor as required by business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when needed while maintaining labor cost objectives
