Special Education Teacher
Overview:
We’re looking for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. This role is focused on providing personalized instruction and support to students with disabilities, helping them reach their academic, social, and emotional goals. The teacher will work closely with families, colleagues, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments that meet the unique needs of each student.

This role is focused on providing personalized instruction and support to students with disabilities, helping them reach their academic, social, and emotional goals. The teacher will work closely with families, colleagues, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments that meet the unique needs of each student.
Compensation & Schedule:
- Pay: Starting at $45/hr
- Hours: Vary by school site
- Schedule: Follows school calendar (specific details vary by district)
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Georgia Special Education teaching certification (required)
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs (LD, autism, developmental delays, etc.)
- Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and special education best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, IEPs, and progress tracking
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to student growth
- Prior classroom experience with students with disabilities (preferred)
- Develop & Manage IEPs: Create and oversee Individualized Education Programs that align with each student’s goals and provide ongoing progress monitoring.
- Deliver Specialized Instruction: Adapt curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessments to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with Teams: Partner with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists to support inclusion and student success.
- Behavioral Support: Use evidence-based strategies to encourage positive behaviors and build a safe, supportive classroom environment.
- Track Progress: Collect data, assess outcomes, and adjust instruction as needed to ensure student growth.
- Family Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about progress, goals, and strategies for home support.
- Professional Growth: Participate in trainings and professional development to remain current with special education practices.
- Classroom Management: Maintain an organized, inclusive, and respectful learning space.
- Advocacy: Ensure students have access to appropriate accommodations, resources, and services.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state, federal, and district policies regarding special education services.
- School-based setting with opportunities for small-group, individual, and classroom instruction
- Frequent collaboration with staff, administrators, and families
- May include supporting students in multiple environments (general education classrooms, resource rooms, therapy settings, etc.)
