Summary:
This role leads our North American Master Data Management(MDM) team, which is comprised of analysts, senior analysts, andmanagers. The MDM team resides within the larger North AmericanInformation Systems team, with this role reporting to the leader ofInformation Systems. Primary areas of focus are the execution ofMDM strategy, people development, and enhancing business valuederived from master data through strong data governance andstewardship.
The MDM team is responsible for theproduct, equipment, customer, vendor, and financial data domains.Key to success in this role is the ability to anticipate obstaclesand problem solve preemptively, while effectively managing conflictand risk. This role is charged with driving a culture of continuousimprovement through measurement and optimization. As we continue toexecute our growth strategy over the coming years, this positionwill play an active role in owning the master data preparation andmigration in support of the integration of acquired businesses toour SAP platform.
EssentialFunctions:
- Lead thework activities with full management responsibility for theperformance and development of the MDM team.
- Participate in development and maintenance of datadictionaries, to include identification of business-criticalfields.
- Monitor and extend the peer reviewprogram to all data domains
- Provide reportingcoupled with suggested actions to leaders whose teams providemaster data inputs, to reduce data quality issues, non-value recordmaintenance, and process deviation.
- Identifysolutions which improve data architecture, quality, and processesas well as drive the implementation of such solutions.
- Promote and act to further SAP as the single-version ofthe truth for master data.
- Developunderstanding of Refresco’s data domains and their integrationpoints.
- Ensure SOX and process controls areadhered to by all team members through active monitoring and reviewof team’s work.
- Conduct root cause analysisfor data quality issues through engagement of technical andbusiness teams to identify, sequence, and implement solutions whichprevent recurrence.
- Identify and manage datacleanup projects to improve data accuracy.
- Responsible for designing and delivering the Master DataManagement technology foundation across the entirecompany.
- Develop and implement global datamanagement systems, processes and procedures to ensure dataaccuracy.
- Measure progress toward businessgoals by creating clear MDM program metrics, setting a baseline andlinking these metrics to business benefit and data valuemetrics
- Serve as lead authority on datagovernance and stewardship for all data domains.
- Develop and implement a periodic review, inclusive ofrobust reporting, of all master data to ensure data is current andaccurate across business functions, conforms to business rules, andmeets data quality standards.

RequiredSkills:
- Demonstratedmid-level or above proficiency with MS Office Excel, analyzing andmanipulating large datasets.
- Strong oral andwritten communication skills, including presentation skills (MSVisio, MS PowerPoint).
- Strong businessaptitude, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience participating in technology implementationprojects.
- Strong analytical abilities withexperience extracting data and developing reports in an ERPenvironment.
- Deep understanding of how thebusiness cycles of order-to-cash, source-to-pay, plan-to-inventory,and record-to-report are managed in an ERP environment
- Experience leading an MDM team across multiple datadomains
- Understanding of the businessfunctions of a manufacturing enterprise from a finance, supplychain, or business analysis perspective.
- Strong understanding of how data is used for reportingand transactional activities.
Education andExperience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or significant relevant workexperience) and 7 years of relevant professional experience,including 4 years of supervisory experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a business ortechnical user of a large ERP system.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering,Computer Science, Decision Sciences, or similar field of studypreferred
- Experience in manufacturing orsimilar industry preferred.
- Experience withSAP MM, IM/WM, PP, and SD preferred.
- Projectmanagement experience leading cross-functional projects.
- Experience with defining, writing and implementingbusiness processes and data standards.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complextechnical matters as well as the ability to convey tostakeholders.
- Certification preferred include:CPA, Six Sigma, PMP, APICS, or similar.
