Job Description
Staffmark is partnering with a well-established accounting firm in Ruston, LA, to hire a Staff Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that prioritizes integrity, teamwork, and professional growth.
Salary: $35,000 - $50,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Perform general accounting duties such as posting to the general ledger, maintaining Excel spreadsheets, data entry using QuickBooks, and payroll. This role operates in a business office setting and does not involve handling cash or credit card payments.
Essential Duties:
- Assist managers with client communications and meet prospective clients to help prepare proposals
 - Serve clients' specific needs and identify value-added solutions
 - Prepare and review tax returns, conduct tax research, and participate in tax planning and consultation
 - Assist managers in researching various client issues and interpreting trust documents, wills, and business agreements
 - Mentor Staff Accountants and Interns
 - Participate in professional development activities such as training sessions and networking events
 
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong administrative and clerical skills with advanced computer proficiency and adaptability to new systems
 - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
 - Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
 - Self-motivated with sharp analytical abilities
 - Bachelor's degree in accounting
 - 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
 - Familiarity with QuickBooks, Creative Solutions, and Ultra Tax
