Job Description

360xStaffing is hiring experienced Stick Welders for a barge repair project in Charleston, MO. This is a high-skill welding role requiring confidence and proven ability with 3/16" 6010 electrodes. Candidates must be able to pass a practical weld test and be ready to work in a demanding marine repair environment.


Job Description:
  • As a Stick Welder specializing in barge repair projects along the Mississippi River waterfront, you will be responsible for welding 3/16" 6010 stick electrodes on 3/8'' carbon steel plate in lap weld positions 3F (up)and 4F.
  • Your primary duty will be to execute high-quality welds that meet stringent standards for continuity, minimal undercut, and overall structural integrity in a challenging waterfront environment.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate proficiency in welding techniques with 6010 stick electrodes, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce sound welds under diverse conditions.
  • Working collaboratively with a team of welders, fabricators, and repair specialists, you will play a crucial role in completing barge repair projects on schedule and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • This position requires a strong commitment to safety, exceptional workmanship, and effective communication skills to ensure project success.
Requirements:
  • Must have experience  3/16" 6010 stick electrodes on carbon steel in lap weld positions 3F (up)and 4F. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Ability to consistently pass visual inspections and maintain good continuity with minimal undercut in welds.
  • Familiarity with barge repair processes and the unique challenges of working on the Mississippi River waterfront.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates on repair projects.
  • Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screening, 7-year criminal history search, and pre-employment medical evaluation are required for this position.
  • Certification or training in stick welding techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards is essential.
  • Must be able to pass a lap weld test in:

    • 3F Uphill (6010)

    • 4F Position (6010)

  • Experience in barge repair or similar heavy structural welding is preferred

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in challenging outdoor/marine conditions


Details:

  • $24/hr, based on experience

  • $130/day Per Diem

  • Monday–Saturday, overtime available
