Description

The Structures Lead effectively maintains and troubleshoots aircraft systems and provides supervision and guidance to assigned personnel in the maintenance of assigned aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Provides personnel work assignments as well as guides, mentors and provides on-the-job instruction or training to the assigned group in related technical information job procedures, safety, and general shop and hangar practices.
  2. Assume responsibility of the quality of work produced by their assigned team (crew).
  3. Coordinate with the manager and supervisors to carry out duties in an effective and efficient manner.
  4. Participate and enforce compliance with housekeeping, tool control and environmental and safety programs.
  5. Responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of aircraft, components, and equipment.
  6. Monitor the status of the aircraft in-work and coordinate efforts with the maintenance manager and subordinate personnel.
  7. Assist in researching and requisitioning of aircraft parts and components and in determining the serviceability of parts and components in question.
  8. Review aircraft records to ensure that required maintenance has been performed and that all associated documentation has been completed.
  9. Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other structure directives as required.
  10. Determines airworthiness of aircraft and components IAW Federal Aviation Regulations.
  11. Demonstrates a high level of focus on customer service and operational Awareness.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have in-depth knowledge of Boeing 737 aircraft. Ability to read, write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions. Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A valid Airframe & Powerplant license in desired.
  • Must have seven (7) or more years of heavy maintenance experience on large commercial aircraft.
  • Must have minimum three (3) years heavy maintenance /modifications experience on large commercial aircraft.
  • Completed B737 General Familiarization course (40 hours).
  • Current B737 engine run and taxi qualified. Recent aircraft maintenance supervisory/lead experience is desired.
  • Structure experience on corporate aircraft is also required.
  • Valid driver's license.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, aera, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Inventory software, Order Processing software.

  • Must be able to use ladders, stands, lifts, etc. and be ale to work on all areas of aircraft.
  • Must not have medical conditions that disallow the use of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Physical exertion: pulling, bending, pushing, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of containers, equipment, etc. not in excess of 50 pounds.
  • May work in inside or outside of maintenance hangar.
  • Ability to work various shifts may include evening and weekend hours.
